nestled in the corner of Jessie St and Butler Rd, you’ll find a little gem called flip happy crepes. flip happy has been featured on several food network shows such as “best thing  i ever ate” and “throwdown with bobby flay“. i can’t believe it took me so long to finally get here, but i finally made the trip after a lovely west elm shopping trip with my homegirl, nicole.

nicole had the lowdown on the best flavors, so we picked the pork special and the nutella with strawberries. a delicious sweet and savory combination!

the slow cooked pork was deliciously flavored, salty, and cheesy. the outer crepe crust was perfectly crunchy and gave way to a soft chewy second layer. freaking delish!

anyway, if you are ever strolling down lamar near barton springs rd, make sure to make a pit stop here for some good eats. nicole and i give this truck two thumbs up!

hi there! i wanted to share a SUPER quick and easy DIY tutorial that i hope y’all love. this tutorial will teach you how to make a pair of unique, fun statement earrings. all you’ll need is:

• a set of decorative tassels (i got mine from Joann’s)
• some small sized hexnuts and washers
• earring clasps

music festival season is here!!!! doesn’t matter if you’re heading to sxsw or coachella, it’s time to don your favorite bohemian rocker gear and jam out to your favorite bands. break out those funky pieces you’re too scared to wear and be a free spirit. here are three music festival inspired outfits that i hope inspire you.

this first outfit is teeming with color. i love the teal and coral combo on this long tribal cotton dress. i typically hate long skirts, but the u-shaped hem gives the dress so much more dimension. the lily wang bauble necklace picks up the coral on the dress’s print, and the wooden heels are a perfect match.

isn’t this clutch insane? i’m obsessed with the cork, peeps of neon yellow and gold hardware. the inside features two zippered compartments and black & white triangle printed fabric.

this second outfit is a long crochet top paired over a cream colored skirt. put a belt around it and you have yourself a mini dress! for accessories i went with darker colors. the earrings are tiger’s eye kendra scott earrings, and the bracelet is an amazing bone carved bangle from inpink. also seen here. 

the shoes are these incredible tribal gladiator wedges i got at target for 35 bucks. score.for my last outfit, i just had to break out my 3 tier fringe minnetonkas! these are some of my favorite shoes because they are so comfy and funky. i wore them with a black cotton romper, a comfy batwing sweater, and a navajo inspired backpack.

these art deco earrings are so breathtaking. the silver is so light and pretty. the bracelets are equally as radiant. i got the double fox head hinged cuff from shoplately, and the chroma silver chain link bracelet is from my friend, evelina barry, the founder of pinkbarry.

my favorite items had either a boho or neutral feel to them, so i went ahead and ran with the theme for this photo and video shoot. i’m so excited to break out my skirts for spring, and i really enjoyed channeling my inner hippie for this first look. i call this first one “tiny navajo” (my favorite GIRLS reference haha!)

totally obsessed with this santa fe necklace. a little tribal, a little native american… oh i cannot resist!

the stones on this ring look amazing with the brushed gold detailing. it’s also available in two other colors.this is my favorite scarf for the spring season. it’s light, airy and totally adorable. the color and pattern stands out, yet it still matches with so many things.

i recently received a pair of  beautiful gray quartz earrings from inpink, and they are definitely my newest fav! i really love the organic shape of the gold hammered circles, and they pair so nicely with the natural quartz stone. this pair is so feminine and delicate, i thought it worked well with my f21 baby pink lace dress.

my second favorite inpink accessory is this wide carved bone bangle. i am obsessed with anything remotely tribal, so you can imagine my excitement styling this amazing piece. the bone carving and color contrast on this bracelet makes it a great statement piece, and the gold edging gives it some refinement. i decided to pair this bangle with a more colorful dress to match its boldness.

if you haven’t been sucked into the asian cosmetic industry yet, boy, have you been missing out! lioele is one of my favorite korean cosmetic/beauty brands because they manage to create high quality products without sacrificing on the cute packaging. i’ve been using lioele korean beauty products for some time now, and i wanted to share some of my favorite goodies with you!

first up is the 3D jewel cheek & highlighter below. this dynamic duo is a great space saver and multi-tasker. when you open the top compact, you will see a beautiful mosaic of color. these “tiles” combined will help color correct skin and provide a multi-dimensional shimmer to your face. the pearls beneath the compact provide a cool toned pink color when swirled together. color + highlighter combined into one cute package. genious.

my next fav is my collection of  lioele shimmering jewel eyeliners. the metallic gold and silver is SO much fun to wear on a night on the town, and they can be easily smudged to achieve a messy glitter effect. i also love rimming the inner corners of my eyes with them. the bronze, khaki, and navy colors are great if you want to incorporate more color to your eye makeup routine without looking overdone. the colors are rich, nicely pigmented, and easy to apply.

this next product is my absolute favorite. i think i’m a lifer on this one. it’s the lioele fresh dewy mist pore mist, and it should be named the miracle worker. like a veil of magic, it sets my makeup into a perfect hydrated, natural look. this mist is great for oily, large pored skin like mine, and the mist is SUPER fine, so don’t worry about having a storm hit your face. it hydrates yet controls oil at the same time. this is anything but amazing.

last but not least, i really love the dollish liquid eyeliner and up & down mascara duo. the mascara is so cool because one side is for your top lash line and the other is specially made for your delicate bottom set. the inky liquid liner has great color payoff and a nice portable size.

jeremy and i took a stroll down to our favorite food truck, Dock & Roll Diner on Congress St. we tried the “austin” style lobster roll {which is basically their regular roll with some special dock & roll spicy sauce} and the fried shrimp po’ boy. i was hesitant to try the “austin” roll, but i ended up loving it! i can’t stand spicy foods that just kill your taste buds right off the bat, but this sandwich has the most perfect slow tasty burn. as for the shrimp po’ boy, the batter was light crispy and {i believe} cornmeal based. both sandwiches had an ample amount of seafood that was fresh, juicy, and delicious. superb indeed.
